Terms of Use

These terms apply to the StudyHatch app and the studyhatch.app website, made by ApexGrid Software Development (“we”, “us”). By using StudyHatch you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use StudyHatch

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

You can use StudyHatch without an account. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping access to your email address secure, because sign-in codes are sent there. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

3. Your content

The decks, cards and images you create or import (“your content”) belong to you. You give us permission to store, copy and transmit your content only as needed to run StudyHatch for you, for example to sync it between your devices. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't publish it.

You're responsible for your content. Only import or share material that you have the right to use. For example, don't import or share decks copied from paid books, courses or other people's work without permission.

4. Sharing decks

When you share a deck, you're sending a copy of your content to people you choose, and you're responsible for that sharing. If someone shares a deck with you, it's their content: we don't review shared decks and aren't responsible for them.

5. Starter decks

The ready-made starter decks are written by the StudyHatch team and are © ApexGrid Software Development. You may use them for your own study. Please don't redistribute them commercially. While we work hard to keep them accurate, they're study aids, not professional, medical or legal advice.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse StudyHatch. In particular, don't:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright;
• try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with the service or its security;
• use StudyHatch to store or share illegal, hateful, or harmful content;
• reverse-engineer the service except where the law allows it.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

7. Anki

StudyHatch can import files exported from Anki. StudyHatch is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anki or Ankitects Pty Ltd. “Anki” is a trademark of its owner.

8. Changes and availability

We're always improving StudyHatch, so features may change. We may also introduce optional paid features in the future; we'll tell you the price before you pay for anything. We'll try to keep the service available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted. Keep in mind that guest data lives only on your device, so sign in if you want a backup.

9. Disclaimer

StudyHatch is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including that the app will be error-free or that it will help you achieve any particular result, such as passing an exam.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of StudyHatch. Our total liability for any claim relating to StudyHatch is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you haven't paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

11. App stores

If you downloaded StudyHatch from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. Apple and Google aren't responsible for StudyHatch or for supporting it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using StudyHatch after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
